Hot Flashes Symptoms

Hot Flashes SymptomsWe all know that a hot flash starts its attack on the body by generating intense heat, more commonly, in the upper part of the body. Mostly, this hot sensation of strong warm wave is witnessed by the eyes via skin redness (flushing) and sweat followed by a cold or moist feeling. All these indicators usually start from the head and cascade down to reach some portions of the neck and chest. In normal cases, these symptoms have a life span ranging from 30 seconds to 5 minutes of which the average is 4 minutes.

However, the hot flashes symptoms do not include only these common sensations. In fact, many other miserable symptoms are also noticed, which are unexpected, such as increased heart beats. If you tend to have hot flashes after dusk or at night, you might face the problems of sleeplessness (insomnia) followed by poor concentration, memory problems, irritability, and tiredness during the day.

Intensity of the Symptoms

The symptoms listed above might not occur in all women and that too not in the same level or pattern. Yes, this is a true fact. What I mean is that if one is having intense night sweats, the second one will experience a mild one, while the third one will not have it all. So, you should not panic if you find these differences on talking with some other woman. In short, we need to accept this fact as it is. Remember, the best thing is to consult a doctor rather than speaking to some other woman.

In some cases, some women are prone to more severe and prolonged hot flashes along with its symptoms. It is seen that women who are consuming the drug tamoxifen for treating breast cancer might undergo more severe and prolonged hot flashes. Further, a woman who experiences a rapid menopause will feel frequent and severe hot flashes for a prolonged period.
